Does anyone have any info on the location of the former trail to the lake?  Does it even exist any more?

      • Near the Indian Henry Campground?  I just did a search on TopoZone.com and it doesn't show any trails leading to it.

I'll be interested to see what you find out...

  • I think Karl is correct, there is more than one Surprise lake.  I've been to the one that is near Si and Fish Lakes, and I think the reason they call it Surprise lake is because it is surprising it is still considered a lake.....It was more of a bog than a lake.  Si and Fish lakes are nice lakes however.

This was on trail 717, and I hiked in from the 4690 120 spur, and only hiked to Fish Lake, not beyond.  Nice lake, however.  Si lake is very small and shallow, but pretty.  I even took my parents on this hike, since it was only a mile or so from the 120 spur to Fish lake, and pretty level.
