I could only find 3 Surprise Lakes after searching through the topos of our district; the one just mentioned on the Fish Lake Trail, one in the Fish Creek drainage NW of Skookum Lake, and the last one about a mile north of Timber Lake a half a mile off Highway 224. Having said that, there were alot of unnamed lakes that could have the same name on different or older maps.
Does anybody else know the whereabouts of another Surprise Lake in our district?
OK, I have a few more I can post.....But the options are getting limited!
This is a current district trail and I don't believe it is in a new wilderness area.
By the way, I found a new trick when posting photos - In the box where you put the photo in, there is a dropdown that says Alignment. If you put in "Bottom", the picture won't go beside the text, it will go under it.
Kinda remeinds me of Alder Flat just before the 1966 marker?
I think that it is on the lower section of the Cottonwood Meadows Trail near Cot Creek.
I think you may be right. Alder Flat is too used, but I was thinking it may have been early season with needle scatter.
