I think Hillock Cabin was moved down to a farm near the Highway 211. Not sure but I think I was told that some time ago.
Is that the Moore Creek trail on the right on your snippit?
D
Donavon:
Do you know where the old cabin site was? I haven't looked for it yet, but it would help in connecting the two trails.
Yeah, it shows the old Moore Creek trail. Too bad they logged out the middle section. I am sure that it was a nice trail from the segments I found on both ends. I guess there was a campground up on top.
Rob:
I think it is your turn now, for you were thinking in the right spot. I will have to show you what I know out there sometime this winter. With the warmup we are having, it should push the snow back up to higher elevations for a while anyway. Yippee!
I thought I did. There are concrete tower footings there but I have been told that's not the place. Just north of where the road switchs from west side to east on the ridge. The mud saddle. I do know that a non local Pine I think, from overseas (?), grows there. Planted some time ago.

OK, here is a photo of a current trail that is partially in a wilderness area:
Well, wherever it is, it looks like about 4400 feet.

How on earth did you infer that? You are correct, this was taken somewhere around 4400 feet....
I am going to guess that it is the Old Baldy Trail.
Don:
You are a little too far north.
