Close enough. It's the Rho Ridge trail just north of the Mt. Lowe area.

Was this apparent camp site ever named on any of the older maps?

I'm not sure, but I don't believe so. It looks like it was a rather "long term" camp - I'm wondering if it was used by trail builders or something.
