I would guess that it is on the Rho Rhidge Trail on the north end.

Nope, further south. But I do need to hike that trail -- I've never hiked the area around Mt. Lowe, but plan to this summer.

Tom, that looks vaguely familiar, but I can't place it.  Since no one has answered yet, can you give a hint?  I know it is south of Rho Ridge, but any other info would be appreciated.

Well, this is probably too much of a hint, but the "trailheads" for this trail are the Canadian and Mexican borders...
