Yes, near the South Fork.  Here's another clue: I believe this section of trail fell into disuse before 1938. The nearby road I mentioned earlier is on the '38 map, but it doesn't show up in the teens.

While I was looking at the older maps, I noticed an Eagle Mountain. It looks like it's where Old Baldy is.  Does anyone know why it got a name change?
