A virtual porch maybe! Wouldn't it be nice to have a trail cam mounted nearby. I have always wondered what it would have been like at that guard station back in the day.

Are you at Alder Swamp?  I've not been there yet and don't recall if there was a cabin there.

Bingo! That was too easy. There was a guard station along the trail that was later used as a shelter at least according to the maps. I have never seen a photo of the original  building, but I'm sure there are some in the archives of the FS. Not much left to be seen of any structure, but pieces of a wood store and other debris litter the site, as well as wire stretched around most of the "swamp" to keep horses from  getting stuck in the muck. Your turn to post a photo!
