It appears to be the very top of a ridge. Elevation around 4,000ft, judging by the flora

- for starters, is the ridge a very prominent one, with a name?

So I'm stuck with no place to go. So do I excuse myself from my own posting? Brian you are right it is at 4-5000' somewhere in the district.
