I'm guessing that is the meadow that we went through on our hike in July, just south of upper lake where the PCT takes the big turn?

You are correct again.
Does anyone have an idea as to what causes the soil movement in the meadow? I was thinking it was heaving caused by freezing temperatures, but I'm not sure.
Do you have a new picture for us?

Since there hasn't been any responses for over a month, I thought I would post another photo. This photo may not be on district land - although if not, it is VERY close - so the hint is that the trail is on the edge of the district somewhere.
