Great shot. Other than that I have no clue where this is. Is it in the Bull of Woods by chance?

Indeed. This is one of the lesser known and lesser visited lakes in the Bull. Sometimes it shows up on maps, sometimes not. I've never seen a name for it, so it goes by the obvious Green Lake.

Bryon there are dozens, if not a hundred of those unnamed lakes in the Bull. Can you give another hint? So the clues we have so far is an abandoned trail next to an unnamed lake in the Bull of the Woods Wilderness. I haven't spent that much time in the Bull, so some of you other folk will have to figure out this one.

Well, I'm going to take a wild guess.  I did go to this lake once several years ago, but I don't remember any trail to it.  Mine was a cross country adventure up a pretty steep hill.  It is a lake off the Dickey Creek Trail, off Big Slide Mountain.  My memory of it was it wasn't worth the effort of hiking up that steep hill.....

These clues will probably give it away - no one seems to have hiked this 125+ year old trail.

This is very close to a most unnatural man made feature within the Wilderness.

It is also very close to one of the most visited lakes in the Wilderness to the South.

And one of the least visited lakes is a little farther away to the West.

Nope. You were in the wrong drainage. This lake has an obvious trail along one side, and the trail is somewhat obvious to the North and much less so to the South until you are past the blowdown - a six foot thick fir right down the trail.
