Is that the waterfall that has some petrified logs in the cliff next to the trail just to the north of the waterfall? I pass on this one, for it is way to easy.

Yes, that would be the one. I would say this trail is arguably the most popular trail in the Clackamas District. It gets a fair amount of traffic on it.

The traffic problem is probably why I don't spend a lot of time on this trail, for I tend to follow those ones which are less followed or not at all. Don't get me wrong, this trail has some amazing views of the Clackamas River as well as the local geology. This forest was blessed with an early tradition of trail developement, but was later also blessed with a lot of road development and logging which wiped out most of those trails. Those pieces of trail which were left out there, or abandoned, are the ones which I spend the most time on.
