OK, I was finally able to duplicate the issue - assuming you are both using Internet Explorer? Using Firefox or Chrome browsers, it works as expected (putting the image where the cursor is when you do the upload). Using Internet Explorer, it appears to always put the image at the top of the posting. Yet another reason why I rarely use Internet Explorer - it has horrible support for web standards and causes issues like this. All the other browsers work one way, and IE does things its own way.
Thanks, Rob.
As you guessed, I was using Internet Explorer. Today I installed Firefox and am finding that the photo problem no longer occurs. Other minor problems that I was having with this forum also seem to have been resolved. Thanks for looking into this for us.
And thanks for all the time and effort you put in to keeping this website and its forum up and running. Your work is appreciated!
Doug
So I am not the only one having problems posting photos, thanks Doug. Rob, thank you for again finding the source of the problem and others I have had through the years. You IT guys always get the blame when things don't work right on our computers or websites, but you always come through in the end. I feel I owe you a pint or two, hell maybe even a growler of Fearless Strong Scotch Ale.
In other news. Since I believe I was the one who started this What trail am I on? topic on this website, can we keep the photos to views from a trail, or a picture of the trail, and not so much to objects ( i.e., a rock, a plant, etc.), unless it is a trail related item. For we all know, we can hike a particular trail dozens of times and not see something another person saw on their first hike on that trail. Lets take a wider view and let others take part in the what I think is a fun pastime when we are stuck in front of our computers and not out enjoying the many trails of the Clackamas country.

Internet Explorer is a regular pain in my backside.....I don't understand why Microsoft can't seem to adhere to standards like the other browsers do. They have gotten better, but they still have a ways to go. Glad that mystery is solved.
As far as the photos go, Personally, I kind of like the tougher photos - it gives you things you might not have noticed, and I like hearing some of the background on some of these trails. But that is just my view - I'm fine with whatever.
Thank you both for the acknowledgement of the maintenance of the site. Although keeping it running is a labor of love, It does take a fair amount of time to keep it going - keeping current with the software to make sure hackers don't get in is a big part of it.
Hey Don,
I actually think I might know where that Rhodie is. Because the azalea in the back totally reminds me of that stretch of the Fanton trail with the view into the canyon.
Course it kinda looks like maybe your yard too, but I have a hunch.
One thing about the picture posting I notice is that my cursor becomes the entire side of the picture but it is off screen so I can't see it. So I can't really tell where I'm at until I post it.
I figure it's kinda like a bucket. So long as it's in there, I'm impressed.
