Sounds to Tumala Mtn.

Don,

Thanks for the photo.  That will help.  It looks like the trail starts about where I parked my truck.  But for some reason I went uphill a ways along the edge of the cleared area and was looking for an opening in the woods up there.   Can the trail be easily seen as it enters the woods from the clearing?  I hope that you're not going to tell me that there's a big sign saying "Trail starts here" right next to where I parked.

Thanks for your help.  I'll give it another try one of these days.

Doug,

There are some boulders you have to walk through before the tread becomes obvious and with the lack of use you don't see a well worn path. I haven't been up there for a couple of months, the flowers ought to be in full bloom by now. It is one of the few trails we have that you can hike up out of the canyon almost all winter long. I have yet to see someone on this trail when I have hiked it.
