Possible log crossing on Southfork.

I drove up the Clackamas today and noticed a log partially across the Southfork. Maybe it will snag a couple of other logs during the winter and give us a way across the river. I was unable to stop and take a picture, for I had tailgators going up and coming down the Clackamas.

I was able to drive up to the 4650 road near Big Bottom, before the snow was too deep. You could drive up further, but it was pretty much singletracks from there on up.  I had hopes of doing some exploring, but with the snow about 2 feet deep and not have any snowshoes with me, I decided to go back down  a ways to do some hiking. I ended up hiking out some of the old abandoned trail that came up the Clackamas in the area that I had located last winter.

What a nice day to get out. Who would of thought, blue skies and in the 50's in January, but I will take it.

On my way back from my hike today, I took a photo of the new log.  It looks like the start of a new logjam:
