Snow levels are dropping quickly this year. There has already been snow down to 4000' and below (which is now melted). Very shortly the high country will be inaccessible until late spring next year. Take a day off and get out while you can! We are going to have some nice weather soon, but it may be the last chance for many months.

Like the man said get out there and hike while you can! I have been out on a couple of hikes this last week and I must say the weather has been great. Even if you have to call in sick, get out there and enjoy this delayed "Indian Summer" were are enjoying this week. Especially those who have a favorite trail above 4-5000', this may the last time until the spring melt.

I was a little surprised Sunday to see no snow on Schriener Peak, being over 5700' tall. Olallie Butte had plenty of snow tho.
