Here is a photo taken from one of our trails, can you tell me where I was when I took the photo according to the signs posted?

Those boys were just driving around putting up signs. Has anyone put the Cripple Creek sign in the right place?

So, where shoud it really go? Well, it could go up the trail at the junction. But it might be better to put at head of the Fanton Trail. It is unclear there that it becomes 502 at that point.

The Old Baldy Trail junction sign might be better placed at the end of the Fanton Trail as you said. Also a Fanton Trail sign at that junction maybe warranted for when you are coming down from Tumala Mtn there is no mention of the Fanton Trail at all.

The sign at the pass near Tumala Mtn needs to be replaced also, for it is about to break in half, besides it still has the name Squaw Mtn on it.

Maybe I can ask around at the FS, if they have a new sign for that junction. I will need to go back up there with a come-along to pull out that root wad anyway, maybe I can do it all in one trip. The newer signs are printed a little bigger and have a more rustic look to them and are thicker. Like this one at Twin Springs:

I like the old Squaw sign. It's been like that for years.
