Does anyone know if this road still exists? With the rash of road decommissioning you just never know what the new season brings...

When I was there in 2008, the road was definitely open (not decommissioned), however I'm not sure if it was gated or had tank traps or something farther up. I followed the road from the southern trailhead to the collapsed bridge at Cot Creek. That lower trail section is BEAUTIFUL.
If I recall, that road accesses units where forest management is an allowable use. So it will remain in the system.

I spent some time last summer flagging thru the clearcut but didn't make it all the way. It is my mission to connect the 2 parts again. Assuming there isn't tons of snow up there! Also worked on that lower trail in 2008, it is a lovely stretch.
We still have to find the lower abandoned stretch towards Shellrock.
