Site Issues

I don't know if anyone has noticed (maybe no one is looking due to 224 being closed), but there were some issues with the site over the last few days - specifically with some of the historical scanned content and old maps.

I did a really stupid thing and accidentally deleted a ton of content.  Fortunately, I had backups, but it took quite a while to get it all back in place (it takes a long time to upload 30 gigabytes worth of maps).  I believe I have fixed all the issues from this.  I guess the good news is that it identified a problem with my backup strategy which has now been fixed.  Hopefully it won't happen again!embarassed

If you see any weird issues, or page not found errors, please let me know and I will investigate.

I noticed an oddball glitch about a week ago.

The body of the message no longer sits parallel to the left side sidebar with the time, the posters name, etc. It does not start the body icons and text until after the last line of the sidebar, leaving plenty of blank green space. This has stayed this way since I first noticed it. Everything is still there, just taking up way more than it needs to.

I think I see what the issue is - if you narrow your browser window too much, I see the same thing.  It is part of the "responsive' design - it adapts to your browser.  I will see if I can tweak something to improve that - if you make your browser window wider, it will change to something more normal looking.

Give it another whirl and see if it looks better now.  I might a slight tweak to a template which fixed it for me.
