The final updates to incorporate all of the map images have been completed.  There are now a total of 590 images and maps cataloged on the page.  At this point, the bulk of the work is completed, however over the coming months there will be additional Metsker maps added to the list - approximately 10 maps per month until all the available maps are added.  I'm hoping to be able to get real scans of some of the older Mt Hood National Forest maps as well - to replace some of the images that are currently there as well.

I will post additional updates if/when the additional maps are added.

A bit of an update - I have received the additional maps, and will be uploading them and updating the page with them over the course of the next few weeks.  31 additional maps!  After that is done, I think we will have a very complete record of maps of the district.  In addition, I got scans of the skyline/PCT trail routes from 1921-1969 which are very interesting to see all the re-routes.  Those will be getting posted separately.  Lastly, I also had the reverse sides of some of the maps scanned - these are interesting for historical content.  Those will be getting posted separately as well.

I am considering offering DVDs of the maps (probably have to be at least 2 DVDs due to the volume of content) for sale as a way to recoup some of the cost associated with obtaining the maps, and also to recoup some of the cost of running the website.  If anyone is interested in this option, please send an email to webmaster@trailadvocate.org.

Sent you an email.  I think that's a great idea.  We're happy to help support the site.

I have uploaded the new maps and have updated the selector page to point to the new maps, removing the old photo images.  I haven't completed my testing yet, but I think everything is in place now.

The only thing to be aware of is that these new maps are VERY large (150MB+ per map).  For all of them, I created maps that only cover the Clackamas district, but also left a link to the full map.  The ones that only cover the Clackamas district have "cropped" at the end of the name.

If you are really interested in the maps, it is recommended to get the DVDs with the maps on it.  If you are interested in some DVDs, please send an email to webmaster@trailadvocate.org.  I will be working on getting that setup soon.
