I had seen on another website that there was once a lookout on Potato Butte (I didn't know that) and it had panorama photos of it (although it much lower resolution).  While looking thru that, I found a few interesting documents:

Manual on how to use the Osborne Fire Finder (the circular thing you see in lookouts to pinpoint where a fire is - still used today)

Manual on how to operate the Osborne Recording Transit (the camera that took the panoramic photos - which was custom made in Portland by Leopold Co.)

Book written by Albert Arnst, one of the original photographers about the project to photograph all the lookouts.

I haven't read them in their entirety, but the skimming I did was quite interesting.  Osborne was quite the inventor for the FS!
