Good work guys!  I'm jealous I couldn't join you...having a 5 year old really limits my time in the woods sometimes.  Can't wait to get back out there.

I wonder how ripped up it is on Oak Grove Butte, there are a lot of roads up there.  Map shows a gated road, maybe one can still drive up there and see.

We only found the connector trail up to the junction with the road.  There was a campsite up there and we looked a bit, but didn't find the trail on the other side of the campsite.  I'm sure it is there somewhere, but we couldn't find it in the looking we did.  It all skirted the edge of a large clearcut, so the upper sections of the trail are gone I'm sure, wiped out by the clearcut.

How nice was the camp?  It may make a nice base camp for summer exploring!

The camp wasn't too bad, but it would need some cleanup.  Whoever used it before left a fair amount of garbage.....

Robert, I can picture your VW van at that campsite, and I think that there is room for several other VW's also. And yes, I think that it would be a good basecamp to do some exploring, as well as access to do some trail maintenance if you were so inclined to do so. I am hoping to find more of this trail up to Oak Grove Butte, but that upper section will have to wait until next summer after the snow melt.
