Rob,
It seems like that trail going SE over to the Cache Meadow trail is not going to be as easy to find as this one was. Maybe it's because the Three Lynx trail has had regular use in the not-so-distant past for maintenance purposes as Donovan said. Perhaps the connecting trail was not useful in that way and therefore was not traveled much nor maintained for decades. But it'll be worth another look next time.
That viewpoint above Serene Lake is always worth a stop. No matter how many times I've been there, I can't help but take another photo.
That cross trail has been elusive. Kind of hard to hunt on account of being in the rhodie band. I have watched for it during the annual maintenance runs we used to do but never saw any sign of it.
I am glad that Rob found the below the cut. I couldn't find anything conclusive.

Unfortunately, I cannot take credit for finding it below the trail. Doug had already found it and flagged it, I just happened to stumble across the tread (and then spotted his flagging) when I was looking on the edges of the clearcut. Doug did a great job flagging this obscure section.
