Interesting - I'll have to look the next time I'm up at that cabin.  I love that place - I hope it finds some more friends to keep it intact.  It is a cool artifact.....

The 38 map shows way trails like what you showed (the dotted trails).  The phone line routes are typically on "normal" trails and are dots that are farther apart.  At least that is how I understood it.  

Don, Donovan, you have other input?  You guys are the experts on these old maps...

I'm leaving in a bit to see if I can find any remnants of the Bedford Point lookout and to see if I can get up to Wanderer's peak if I have time.

I think the phone lines are indicated by dots that alternate sides along the indicated trail or road that they were strung along.
