Key Stats for the Shining Lake Trail - 510

About

A trail that follows an old road up Indian Ridge to an old lookout site. There is a side trail down to shining lake with a few opportunities for camping. There is also an old campsite just off the road before you head down the hill to the lake.

The road past the turnoff to the lake gets increasingly brushy in places. Pushing thru the brush is rewarded with some spectacular views from the old lookout location.

Directions

Travel Hwy 224 thru Estacada to Ripplebrook. Continue thru Ripplebrook and immediately after crossing the river, turn left on Forest Service road 57. Go 7.2 miles to Forest Road 58. Turn left on Forest Road 58 and travel 7 miles to Forest Service road 4610. Turn left and follow Road 4610 approximately 1.2 miles to the junction with the 4610-240 spur. Follow 4610-240 for approximately 4.2 rough, rocky, brushy miles to the abandoned Frazier Fork campground (this is approximately 0.2 miles before Frazier Turnaround) and the trailhead. The trail is the continuation of the road. There may or may not be signs. There are places to park in the campground.
