Trail starts on Whetstone Mountain and goes down to the Opal Creek trail. This is a Willamette National Forest Trail. There has been a lot of confusion over trail names in this area – This has apparently been renamed the Whetstone Mountain Trail and shares part of the Whetstone Mountain Trail (541) before heading back down to join the Battle Ax Creek trail (3339).
